Ms. Joseph joined Success Academy in 2015 as a first-grade teacher at SA Fort Greene. The following year, she became a founding teacher at SA Bed-Stuy 3. In 2017, she moved to middle school, teaching fifth-grade ELA and then eighth-grade history at SA Harlem North Central. She has served as grade team lead and content lead, working with teachers to develop their instructional practice. Presently, she is the principal at Bed-Stuy Middle School, a position she has held since 2021. A New York native, Ms. Joseph grew up in both the Bronx and Kerala, India. She holds a B.A. in psychology and sociology from Stony Brook University as well as a master’s degree in childhood education and special education from Touro College. Ms. Joseph is committed to building a school community that empowers teachers and scholars to reach their full potential. In her spare time, she loves traveling to new countries, learning about NYC history, and spending time in Central Park.
